"...the Sociology course itself is incredibly wide-ranging, and allows you to learn from academics who are pioneers in a variety of sub-disciplines..."

Two things in particular attracted me to the Sociology course at Cambridge. First, Sociology’s integration within the broader degree of HSPS allows you to study a range of disciplines which intrinsically overlap and engage with each other. For example, I have found it interesting applying my thoughts about class in a Sociology paper to a Politics paper in which I study electoral patterns and voting trends. Second, the Sociology course itself is incredibly wide-ranging, and allows you to learn from academics who are pioneers in a variety of sub-disciplines - from Race and Gender to Political Economy, Social Theory and Statistics.
