The Department of Sociology and Murray Edwards College invite you to join the 2021 Jo Cox Cambridge Memorial Lecture

Jo Cox MP was a former student of Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge and a committed politician, humanitarian, wife and mother. In June 2016, Jo was murdered by a far-right activist whilst working in her constituency, Batley and Spen. Jo dedicated her life to helping others, campaigning tirelessly for a fairer, kinder and more tolerant world.

To celebrate Jo's life and the inspiring work she was involved with, please join us for the 4th annual lecture in our memorial series on 16th June 2021; the day which marks the 5th anniversary of Jo's murder.

The lecture will be delivered by the former Home Secretary and Chair of The Jo Cox Foundation, the Rt Hon Jacqui Smith. The event will be opened by the President of Murray Edwards College, Dame Barbara Stocking, and the Q&A will be chaired by the President of the Jo Cox Feminist Society, Safa Al-Azami.

For more information, and to support Jo's legacy, please visit the Jo Cox Foundation website.
