Department of Sociology

The Cambridge University Sociology Society (SocSoc) is the student-led and University-wide society of the Department of Sociology. Working closely with the Department of Sociology itself, SocSoc seeks to connect Sociology enthusiasts across the University, from undergraduates to academics, creating a social and academic space for those interested in Sociology across all disciplines and levels of study.

Want to Get Involved?

SocSoc holds regular events and socials, ranging from clothing swaps to speaker events, ensuring broad inclusion and appeal. SocSoc updates and details for events can be found on their Instagram, Facebook, via their mailing list, and the SocSoc WhatsApp groupchat.

SocSoc also hosts and publishes a journal, which always welcomes submissions on sociological matters and concepts. For more information regarding current calls for submissions, check the SocSoc social media channels. All enquiries should come to the SocSoc committee in the first instance at sociologysoc@cambridgesu.co.uk.

We open committee applications for each academic year but there is scope to get involved with the society throughout the year if you wish. We also regularly host collaborations with other university societies, and welcome guest speakers every term. If you want to get involved with the society in any way, collaborate with us, or host an event with us please get in touch via our Instagram Direct Messages @camsocsoc or by emailing cambridgesocsoc@gmail.com.
