We are delighted to announce that our Photo Competition 2023 is open to entries on the theme of the sociology of inequality.

For this year's photo competition, we would like you to think about - and capture in a photo - inequality in the world around you. What are some of the big or small ways that inequality manifests in your everyday contexts? What might be causing this inequality? How, if at all, might it be challenged or alleviated?

The first prize is £100 for the student and £100 for the school, as well as a trip to the University of Cambridge.  The winning photos will be displayed on the Department of Sociology website.

The competition is open to all GCSE and A-Level (or equivalent i.e. International Baccalaureate) students in the UK and abroad.

Entries will be judged by a panel from the University of Cambridge and results will be announced by the end of May 2023. The judges will assess the photos and accompanying text on their interpretation of the theme, originality and creativity.
