Ziqi Yin (2024)

Ziqi Yin is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge. She holds an MSc in Sociology from the University of Oxford (Distinction) and a BSc in Sociology from University College London (Distinction). Her doctoral research examines the post-migration lived experiences of rural-to-urban women return migrants in China, with a focus on how urban experiences and forms of agency may be mobilised, and how they may also be constrained, in processes of personal and social transformation after return. More broadly, she is interested in how gender and class inequalities are produced and contested across migration trajectories. She also studies how contemporary social and digital transformations are reshaping sexuality and romantic relationships.
