Yağmur Çağatay (2024)

Yağmur Çağatay is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge, funded by Cambridge International Trust and Newnham College. Her doctoral project explores how neoliberal urban transformation shapes women’s experiences of violence in Turkey, using a relational comparative approach focused on the cities of İzmir and Diyarbakır.

She previously completed her BA and MA in Sociology at Boğaziçi University, where she also worked as a departmental research assistant from 2022 to 2024. For her master’s thesis, she examined disclosures and complaints of sexual violence at universities in Turkey and the feminist subjectivities articulated around these struggles.
