Josh Booth

Josh has interests in political sociology, the sociology of science and technology, the sociology of intellectuals and social and political theory. From 2016-17 he worked on an EC-collaborative project (with Patrick Baert) about the diffusion of theories and methods in the social sciences and humanities within Europe. For this project, Josh studied the German political theorist Carl Schmitt’s influence on contemporary Spanish politics – in particular the apparently paradoxical appropriation of his ideas by the political left.

Josh has a PhD in Sociology and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. He also has an MSc in Political Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
