Awards for Department of Sociology Administrative Staff!

The University’s Professional Services Recognition Scheme Awards, 2017, were held on 11th December at the new University development in Eddington. The Professional Services Recognition Scheme aims to highlight and celebrate the very best administrative work across the University, with nominations being submitted by anyone working in the University.

We are delighted and proud to announce that two members of the Department of Sociology administrative team were the worthy recipients of awards.

The first award went to Siobhan Hoffmann-Heap, Administrator for the SSRMC. Siobhan won in the category of ‘We are open, responsive and innovative’. It was noted that Siobhan is continuously working to improve SSRMC processes and, in particular, her work to improve the student feedback process has been enormously valuable.

The second award went to Odette Rogers, Undergraduate Secretary. Due to the exceedingly high number of nominations that Odette received, a new award was conferred on her for being an ‘Unsung Heroine’. The Nominations Review Committee were impressed not only by the number of nominations received by Odette, but also by the strength of the comments on Odette’s contribution to the Department of Sociology.

Congratulations to both Odette and Siobhan!
